EMMANUEL AMOFA
Emmanuel Amofa is a Partner of the Firm. His areas of expertise and interest include, Legal Sector Reform, Corporate Law, Investment Law and Negotiation, Civil Litigation, Land Law, International Commercial Law, International Business Transactions, Negotiation of Commercial Transactions, Arbitration and Mediation, Petroleum and Energy Law, Privatisation and Banking Law.
Emmanuel’s experiences and expertise include:
o Part of team providing consultancy services in the area of legal sector reform, in particular, the preparation of a Report on a Study for the Restructuring of the Ministry of Justice and other Government Legal Offices under auspices of the World Bank. Emmanuel assisted the team leader in a study on the legal framework for entrepreneurial law in Africa with special reference to medium and small scale enterprises in Kenya, Ghana and South Africa which was sponsored by the United Nations.
Emmanuel has advised on the legal and regulatory framework for the operation of business concerns both local and expatriate, joint venture or foreign owned and governmental agencies among others.
Emmanuel has actively participated in the establishment of joint venture companies between foreign and local Ghanaian counterparts in various sectors of the Ghanaian economy, including energy and the pharmaceutical industry.
Emmanuel has been involved in research and studies undertaken by the Firm. Some of the studies include the preparation of a proposed Payment Systems Act and Bills and Cheques Act for Ghana. He was part of a team of consultants, which prepared a Report for the Royal Danish Embassy under its Business Sector Programme Support for Better Access to Markets.
Emmanuel provided research support for the development of PPP in the Energy Sector in Ghana.
Currently the Administrator of the Ghana Arbitration Centre, Emmanuel has assisted in preparing cases for international commercial arbitration and provided research support to Arbitrators in international and local arbitration proceedings. He has served as secretary to a number arbitral tribunals.
Emmanuel is a Member, Ghana Bar Association, Member, Ghana Arbitration Centre and Member, Young International Arbitrators Group (YIAG) London.
